COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A well-known philanthropist who notably contributed to causes in South Carolina passed away earlier this month.
Charlotte Lunsford Berry died Nov. 7 in Asheville, North Carolina, at the age of 94.
Throughout her life, Berry served on numerous boards and chairs as well as gave to causes focusing on education, health, environmental and arts across South Carolina. She was awarded the Order of the Palmetto and was more recently awarded the President of the United States’ Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Columbia Chamber marked Berry’s passing in a social media post on Monday.
