GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This Veterans Day — one Grand Rapids veteran is receiving more than just a “thank you.” He’s getting a life-changing gift that will help him live independently.

After serving our country, Victor Mitchell is now getting something in return, a safer place to call home.

“It's grateful to see other people, like companies, stepping up and taking care of us so that we can honor them," said Mitchell.

On Tuesday, the sound of hammers and saws isn’t just construction — it’s compassion.
