AUGUSTA -- Residents at the Maine Veterans' Homes in Augusta received a special donation Tuesday that aims to help them stay busy and "Tinker" again.
The Augusta Rotary Club teamed up with the Home Depot of Augusta and the Home Depot Foundation to create "Tinker" carts for the residents.
The carts are portable work stations filled with tools and materials for hands-on projects like woodworking, painting, and more, allowing residents to pick up some of the hobbies and skills they may have left behind when they moved into Maine Veterans' Homes.
"The veterans did so much for us we wanted to give back to them and make them feel as at home as possible while they're here," said Ranae L'Italien, President of the Rotary Club of Augusta.
