MONESSEN, Pa. —
A 16-year-old was taken to the hospital after being shot in the head in Monessen, Westmoreland County Tuesday evening.

Monessen Police Chief David Yuhasz told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that officials were called to the 200 block of Linden Avenue near Rostraver Street following reports of shots being fired.
Chief Yuhasz said when they arrived on scene, a 16-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He said the victim was alert and conscious and flown to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.
We're told the teen was in a vehicle with two other people when he was shot. No other injuries were reported.
Westmoreland County officials said one person was taken into custody following
