At just 25, Farhan Akhtar had a dream — to make Dil Chahta Hai, a film that would redefine friendship for a generation. But convincing Aamir Khan to be part of it turned into an eight-month-long test of patience — one that ended with Farhan doing something no one in Bollywood had ever done before.

Farhan revealed in an interview with India TV that he literally read the entire script to Aamir Khan through his home’s video doorbell, after months of waiting for the superstar to decide. “Then I just went to his house and I started reading the entire script while standing outside at his gate through the video doorbell," he said. His determination worked — Aamir finally agreed, and the rest, as Farhan put it, “is history."
