BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A First Alert Weather Day is being issued for this evening into tonight due to a refreezing melted snow and snow being blown onto cleared road ways. This is creating hazardous travel across the region and leading to numerous travel delays and accidents.
Due to continuing light snow showers, overnight additional snow accumulations should be minimal.
Overnight conditions should gradually improve as state, county, municipal, and private entities increase their plowing and salting efforts this evening and overnight.
By tomorrow morning road conditions won’t be perfect, but they should be in better shape. You’ll likely want to give yourself extra time in the morning to get to your destination, travel slower, avoid steep hills, and exercise caution.
