HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Samantha Rundle, the Programming and Collections Supervisor at the Hastings Library, won The Mad Hatter Award.

Rundle accepted the award at the Nebraska Library Association’s annual conference in York on Oct. 23, 2025.

The Mad Hatter Award is given out annually to an individual in Nebraska who demonstrates imaginative interpretation of library services, develops innovative and creative programs for children and adults, and contributes to the library profession beyond their community.

Rundle’s nomination highlighted her passion and creativity stating:

“Sam creates so many activities for youth in the Hastings area. She is also active statewide through her work as Chair of the Golden Sower Award Committee and shares her expertise through statewide training programs
