LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A western Kentucky school district said two girls were caught with a "kill list" at an elementary school.

Dawson Springs Independent School System said in a social media post Monday that "it appears there is no immediate threat."

The district said a teacher learned about the "kill list" in class and immediately confiscated it. The girls were removed from class and "are being dealt with on multiple levels."

The school system said there is limited information it can release because of the age of the girls involved.

"We will continue to investigate the situation thoroughly and will take appropriate action," district leaders said. "We will also be contacting parents of anyone directly related to any threat."
