ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Frontier Airlines flight from Atlanta to Cincinnati Sunday was delayed briefly after a passenger found a loaded ammunition magazine near her seat, the airline said.

The airline said flight 4771 was deplaned in Atlanta after the passenger reported the find. Security conducted an additional sweep of the aircraft and “additional passenger screening prior to the flight’s departure.”

FlightAware data says the stray magazine resulted in a more than four-hour-long delay.

According to Frontier, the ammunition and magazine “belonged to a law enforcement officer who was on an earlier flight on the same aircraft.”

The ammunition and magazine were given to Atlanta police until the owner could retrieve the items, the airline said.
