WASHINGTON (AZFamily) — After weeks of political drama, a date and time have been set for when Arizona Rep.-elect Adelia Grijalva will be sworn in .

Officials with House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that Grijalva will be sworn in on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Arizona time at the U.S. Capitol.

She easily won a special election in Arizona’s 7th Congressional district, which is deep blue, on Sept. 23 to serve out the remaining term of her late father, Paul Grijalva, who died in March. The election results were certified on Oct. 14.

Most of the House of Representatives went back to their home districts on Sept. 19 after passing a continuing resolution to fund the government. But then the shutdown started on Oct. 1, and Johnson, a Republican, said he would only conduct the swearing-in ceremony
