SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame women’s basketball team will host Akron on Wednesday night in a game that holds special meaning for Irish junior guard KK Bransford, whose sister plays for the visiting Zips.

Notre Dame enters the matchup with a 2-0 record after winning its first two games by more than 40 points each. For Bransford, the game represents a chance to compete against her sister Kailee’s team, though Kailee is currently unavailable to play.

Bransford has made a strong return to the court this season after missing all of last year due to injury. She has played more than 30 minutes in both games and scored in double figures in each victory.
