DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Kings Harvest Pet Rescue is warning people about a Facebook scam.

Officials said a scam page is pretending to be the rescue, advertising little dogs like Yorkies and asking for money to hold the dogs or asking people to pay before picking the dog up, according to a Facebook post .

Kings Harvest officials said they never ask for money for dogs until people are at the shelter and adopting the dog. They also never let anyone adopt a dog without meeting them first.

Officials are asking people to report anything suspicious.

If someone is interested in a dog, officials said to call the rescue or visit between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to make sure the dog is at the shelter.
