'No surprise': WakeMed says United Healthcare walked away from Medicare Advantage negotiations, patients at risk of losing provider access

Once WakeMed's previous contract with United expires on Nov. 15, hospitals, outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities and more will be considered out of network. WakeMed claims this will cause patients to pay much more for certain services.
