A teenager is behind bars after allegedly using a wrench and a knife during a shopping centre crime spree involving multiple violent carjacking attempts.
The 15-year-old is set to face the ACT Children's Court on Wednesday, November 12, after police claimed he broke a display case and stole phones from a Westfield Woden shop the previous afternoon.
According to ACT Policing, when a member of the public confronted the boy, he fled on foot.
He is then accused of trying to steal three cars while wielding a "large knife", injuring one woman and throwing a man out of his vehicle during the failed attempts.
Police officers were initially unable to find the teenager, but recovered a knife from one of the cars.
