JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – As participants and observers lined up on a cold and occasionally windy November afternoon for Johnstown’s Veterans Day parade, Marty Kuhar recalled the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Chosin Reservoir and other fights in U.S. military history that were known for their brutally frigid cold.
“We’ve been lucky to have so much good weather over the years, but this is a good test for us and a good test for the people because, needless to say, it is cold,” said Kuhar, chairman of the Pennsylvania Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the parade’s emcee. ×
