KILLEEN, Texas — The streets of Killeen swelled with patriotic pride as families, veterans, and community members lined the parade route for the annual Veterans Day celebration—a tradition that means everything in this military town.
From children dressed in uniforms to veterans supporting their brothers and sisters, the parade showcased what makes Killeen unique: a deep, unshakeable commitment to honoring those who serve.
Seven-year-old Eres arrived at the parade dressed as a soldier, standing alongside his sister Leanne and their veteran father. When asked what soldiers mean to him, the young boy didn't hesitate.
"A special guardian," he said.
