ROCHESTER, Minn. - A Rochester barbershop called 'Proper 4' celebrated Veteran's Day by offering free haircuts to veterans in the area.
Last year, Proper 4 provided $2,800 worth of free services to veterans in the community. This year, the shop is expected to go far beyond that amount.
Owner, Nick Richards knew that doing something like this was a no brainer. "These are my people and I wanted to do something on Veterans Day," said Richards. "I thought, the best thing I could do, free haircuts. Its what I know how to do."
While the shop does not open until 9am, but by 8:30am, people were lined up. At times, the wait was about two hours long due to there only being three barbers providing the service. By 1:30pm, 30 veterans had already gotten a haircut.
