WILKES-BARRE — With the delay in SNAP benefits continuing to impact families nationwide, local organizers are coming together to ensure that those in need will still be able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

A free dinner pickup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or when food runs out) on Thursday, Nov. 27, on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre.

Organizers Laura Colleran, of Rubbico Real Estate, and Floyd Snook, of Snook’s Wings and Things, stressed that everyone is welcome to stop by and receive food, no questions asked.

Meals are free, so it’s first-come, first-served until the food is gone.

Other organizers for the event include Maddy’s Do
