BIDDEFORD, Maine — A potentially tense mayoral transition in Biddeford is ending on a collaborative note.
Mayor-elect Liam LaFountain, who currently serves as City Council President, received a public apology from outgoing Mayor Marty Grohman following a critical op-ed Grohman wrote before the election.
LaFountain, 28, is one of the youngest mayors in Biddeford’s history.
“We need business. We need development. We need housing that people can afford to live and work in in Biddeford. Those will be my primary goals,” said LaFountain after his win.
