A century-old school campus in the heart of Eustis is getting an overhaul after the Lake County School Board voted to approve a site plan for restoration and upgrades at Eustis Elementary.

Now that the site plan has been approved, the school district will spend next year designing the new school while staff at the current campus prepare to move into another school facility in summer 2027.

The construction is set to begin summer 2027 and last two years, with an expected conclusion in the summer of 2029.

The plan involves almost a total rebuild of the campus, with the exception of the historic façade and front building, along with a newer classroom building toward the back of the campus.
