LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is issuing a crucial warning to the public about a deceptive website designed to steal personal data.

A DMV spokesperson says the agency has received multiple reports regarding a fraudulent website that mimics the official DMV site.

According to officials, this fake website features a chatbot that attempts to lure individuals into booking appointments. During these interactions, the chatbot illicitly requests sensitive personal information, including identification details and Social Security numbers. Furthermore, users are asked to pay an appointment fee, a practice the Nevada DMV explicitly states it will never engage in.
