Delhi Customs has seized over 11 kilograms of high-grade hydroponic cannabis from an Indian woman passenger arriving from Bangkok, who allegedly tried to impersonate an officer of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to evade detection.
Confirming the development to CNBC-TV18, Delhi Customs said the seizure took place on November 8, 2025, at Indira Gandhi International Airport after officers acted on profiling-based intelligence. The passenger was kept under close watch upon arrival from Bangkok, a known transit point in several narcotics trafficking routes to India.
“During surveillance, the woman was seen entering a washroom and changing from a black jacket to a grey jacket bearing the National Emblem and the ‘National Investigation Agency (NIA)’ inscription,” Delhi Customs told C
