Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will miss Tuesday’s game against the Boston Celtics ( 8 ET, Peacock/NBC ) due to right knee soreness, the team announced. He’s being evaluated by team doctors to determine next steps.

The former Kia MVP is averaging 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists over six games this season. He has missed significant time due to injuries throughout his career, including last season when he had arthroscopic left knee surgery, which ended his 2024-25 campaign after just 19 games.

The Sixers (6-4) have started strong this season with dominant performances from point guard Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe.
