CHAPEL HILL — UNC basketball’s Jarin Stevenson left the Tar Heels’ game vs. Radford early in the first half with what appeared to be a right ankle injury.
Stevenson, a Chapel Hill native and Alabama transfer, jumped to contest a layup attempt with 18:35 left and his right ankle turned as he landed on Roy Williams Court.
The 6-foot-10 junior forward immediately reached down to grab his right ankle as UNC head athletic trainer Doug Halverson came to Stevenson’s aid. After limping to the bench, Stevenson exited the court through the UNC tunnel.
West Virginia transfer Jonathan Powell replaced Stevenson, who started the first three games. He's averaging 4 points and 3.5 rebounds through two games. In addition to Stevenson's injury, the Tar Heels are without senior captain Seth Trimble, who b
