MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - Mt. Juliet Police will mount two emergency response drones atop their new headquarters starting next year, providing real-time video to dispatchers and officers within 30 to 45 seconds of a 911 call.

“It’s a game changer to keep communities safe,” said Mt. Juliet Police Chief Tyler Chandler.

The drones will respond to all emergencies and send real-time video and intelligence back to the communications center and field responders, Chandler said.

Multiple emergency response capabilities

The technology can follow pursuits within city limits, read license plates and track suspects on foot. The drones will also have capabilities such as night vision and infrared.
