ADAMS, Minn. - A new veterans memorial site opened today in Adams in honor of Veteran's Day. It is located on Main Street, right across from City Hall. The site honors veterans as well as active duty members.

A ceremony was held to commemorate the opening. It included the Presentation of Colors, National Anthem, Folding of the Flag, as well as speakers.

David Fasbender, a committee member for Freedom Veteran's said that he had promised City Council that this project would be done in a year and it would not use any tax payer dollars. Both of these were accomplished and more than $200,000 was donated.

More features will be added to the memorial as time goes on. There are currently more than 230 plaques at the site to honor veterans, but the site will be able to hold about 600.
