HARRISBURG, Pa. — At long last, Pennsylvania lawmakers have agreed on a budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The budget agreement was announced Tuesday night, nearly four and a half months past the original June 30 deadline.

Multiple lawmakers in the Pennsylvania General Assembly from both parties told FOX43 Tuesday afternoon that they expected to be presented with a bipartisan budget agreement when they arrive to the Capitol on Tuesday.

Lawmakers with knowledge of the deal told FOX43 that it likely includes a winding down of the state's involvement in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a key demand from Republicans who argue it’s hurting the state’s energy industry.
