TAMPA, Fla. – The Bulls travel to Annapolis this week as the highest-ranked Group of Five team at No. 24. The second College Football Playoff ranking was revealed Tuesday evening and USF, which is slotted in at No. 12 in the 12-team field, would play at No. 5 Georgia in an opening-round game in the projected bracket.
Of course, much will change. The Bulls (7-2/4-1 American) have three regular season games remaining, including Saturday (Noon, ESPN2) against Navy. The Midshipmen, like the Bulls, have one loss in American Conference play.
No G5 team made the ranking last week. The committee selected Memphis as the best non-power conference team.
Four weeks of rankings remain and the final one will be revealed Sunday, December 7. The American title game is Friday, December 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
