UPDATE: Liv Mcgill is named as the SEC Player of the Week and named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s National Team of the Week.

On Monday night in the O’Dome, the Gators started off strong from opening tipoff, with 28 points in the first quarter (best of the early season), anchored by a three-pointer from Me’Arah O’Neal to start the scoring onslaught. Caterina Piatti added her first three-pointer as a Gator and led with seven rebounds. The team recorded nine of its 11 steals (in the half) in the first quarter.

Liv McGill continued to shine, scoring 13 of her 19 points (6 for 11 shooting), while Laila Reynolds netted 17 points. The Gators lead JU in rebounds, 43 to 30.
