Jill Andrews, owner of Jill Andrews Gowns on the first floor of the 126-year-old building, was standing with restoration crews as they started to assess what would be taken out first.

Fabric restoration and property damage companies as well as BGE had vehicles all parked on Keswick Avenue between 33rd and 34th streets as the block remained closed off Tuesday afternoon. Officials said Monday’s fire was contained mainly to the third floor and attic of the building that once housed the Northern District Police Station.
Andrews said she built her business “through 16 years with love and intent and making people feel the best that they could the day that they walk down the aisle” and talked about hosting
