NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - A former New Haven police officer investigated in connection with an arrest that left a man paralyzed received a suspended sentence and conditional discharge last week.
Ronald Pressley received a six-month conditional discharge, according to court records. He was one of five New Haven officers investigated in the case of Randy Cox, who was paralyzed when he hit the wall of a police van in June 2022.
Pressley retired from the police department in 2022 and pleaded guilty to a reckless endangerment charge.
Cox was injured during transport in a police van when the vehicle braked suddenly, causing him to strike the wall and suffer severe spinal injuries that left him paralyzed.
