A pregnant woman tragically died after a 'reported medical emergency' at her home, police have said.

Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to a house on Highsted Road, Kirby, shortly before 11am on Tuesday (November 11) following reports of an urgent medical incident.

A spokesperson for the force said police received a call from the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) reporting a woman in her 40s required immediate medical attention. Officers attended the semi-detached property to support paramedics, but despite their efforts, the woman died at the scene.
