The Senate voted 60 to 40 with an agreement aimed at temporarily funding most agencies through January and others until September.
While the Senate voted to reopen, it's now in the hands of the House of Representatives, which is expected to vote on the new bill as soon as tomorrow.
House Speaker Mike Johnson urged lawmakers to return to Washington, D.C., immediately so that they can vote.
