ANNANDALE, Va. — Fairfax County police are asking for the public’s help as they look for a driver who fled the scene after striking and killing a man in Annandale.
Police began investigating Monday after responding to the scene in the 6600 block of Columbia Pike around 7:30 p.m. for a report of an unconscious person.
When they arrived, they found 41-year-old Steven Davis in the wood line of Mason District Park off the roadway.
They declared him dead at the scene.
Investigators believe Davis was struck by a driver in the eastbound lanes of Columbia Pike near Mason District Park.
The driver – whose vehicle has not been identified – then sped away.
