This Veterans Day, communities across Massachusetts honored the men and women who have served our country with pride.

At the State House, people gathered for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony to thank the nation's heroes.

"Today is a day of reverence, it's a day of respect. It should also be a day of celebration," said Gov. Maura Healey. "Veterans will continue to inspire and they will continue to keep this nation on course."

In Quincy, that spirit of freedom was on full display as a parade marched through the city. In West Roxbury, German Centre Skilled Nursing celebrated 15 years of its annual Veterans Day Program honoring its more than 25 residents who bravely served.
