The boy who drowned in a pool at a display home in northern Victoria has been identified as the building company insists the pool was compliant with safety regulations.
Gurshabad Singh, 8, was found unresponsive in a pool at a property in Kialla , near Shepparton, just before 7pm on Sunday.
He received medial assistance but could not be saved.
The boy was set to celebrate his ninth birthday in only two weeks.
His father Talwinder Singh said his son was autistic and had just jumped into the pool.
“It is an example how quick the kids can go in,” he told the ABC .
The pool was at a GJ Gardiner display home at Sevens Creek Estate.
Singh questioned why there wasn’t a cover on the pool in the first place when it was not open for inspection.
