Some of the iconic Salvation Army red kettles that have collected money for the organization's annual charity drive for over a century are getting a technological upgrade this year to allow donors to give with the tap of a card or phone.
Beginning Nov. 17, the Salvation Army's "Give with Joy" campaign aims to raise $110,000 by Christmas Eve, primarily for the benefit of a homeless day shelter, according to a press release from the organization.
