Longueuil police are investigating after a vehicle hit a child near an elementary school in Brossard, fracturing her hip.

Police were called to the scene near École primaire Sainte-Claire Brossard shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from Longueuil police.

Police say she was struck and suffered an injury to her lower body.

The girl was transported to a hospital by ambulance and was treated, Longueuil police wrote. Her life is not in danger.

The Longueuil police’s investigation unit is looking into the case to clarify the circumstances of the event.
