ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KVOA) - The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine is drawing significant attention with more than 2,500 applications for its class of 2029, making it one of the most competitive programs nationwide .

The college, located in Oro Valley, received 2,541 applications, placing it as the third-most popular choice for aspiring veterinarians, according to the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges. With only 110 spots available, just over 4% of applicants will be accepted.

The college's accelerated three-year curriculum and early hands-on experience with live animals set it apart. Students start working with animals within the first two weeks, a practice many programs reserve for later years.
