CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Stephen Vogt is the 2025 American League Manager of the Year. It is the second year in a row he has won the award.
Vogt beat out Toronto’s John Schneider (91 points) and Seattle’s Dan Wilson (50 points). Vogt recorded 17 first-place votes and 113 voting points overall.
The Guardians won 88 games and rallied from 15.5 games back of Detroit to improbably win the Central Division.
Vogt joins Milwaukee’s Pat Murphy (also 2024-2025), Kevin Cash (TB, 2020-21) and Bobby Cox (ATL, 2004-05) as the only back-to-back winners in the award’s history dating back to 1983. He is the only member of that group to accomplish it in his first two seasons managing.
