COCKE COUNTY, Tenn — John Fiege and Maureen Murphy both know a thing or two about Battleships. The pair are both retired U.S. Naval officers.
"You know, in the military there's a lot of camaraderie, and we miss that when we get out," said Murphy.
It's why both enjoy getting together with other veterans when possible.
"We've got a few places, that's one thing that this new park is gonna do. It's gonna enable it to be able to bring us more together," Fiege said.
The Veterans Park is the idea of retired U.S. Air Force Veteran Rob Watkins. He's also the president of the nonprofit "Veterans in Focus."
