Former union boss John Setka has been charged with harassing a CFMEU administrator after he allegedly sent threatening and abusive emails.
Detectives from Task Force Hawk, which investigates allegations of criminal behaviour linked to the construction industry, arrested the 61-year-old at his Melbourne home on November 12.
A mobile phone and an iPad were seized after detectives searched Mr Setka's home in Footscray.
Assistant Commissioner Martin O'Brien said that all allegations of criminal behaviour in Victoria's construction industry would be thoroughly investigated.
"We will not tolerate behaviour that aims to intimidate and harass people who simply want to be able to go to work and perform their job to the best of their ability," he said.
