DETROIT — For the second year in a row, Michigan-Wake Forest went down to the wire. This time, the Wolverines didn’t slip up.

Michigan blew a 13-point second-half lead and struggled from 3-point range but made enough plays in crunch time to win 85-84 in overtime Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena.

The sixth-ranked Wolverines, who made 19 3-pointers and scored 121 points in a season-opening win, shot just 4 for 25 from deep Tuesday, including 1 for 14 after halftime.

Aday Mara posted 18 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and five blocks for Michigan. Elliot Cadeau had 17 points, including the game-winning free throw with 13 seconds left, along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
