DES MOINES, Iowa —
Veterans Day has brought active weather to Iowa numerous times over the years, and 10 years ago was no exception.
The state's largest November tornado outbreak on record took place Nov. 11, 2015.
At least 19 tornadoes struck Iowa that Wednesday afternoon when a powerful low-pressure center dragged a fast-moving line of storms through the state.

The first one of the day touched down near the western Iowa town of Avoca. Numerous twisters followed as storms swept eastward at 50-60 mph.
Two tornadoes left damage paths over 20 miles long, including an EF1 that started east of Bedford and finally lifted a few miles south of Creston.
