LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One week after the UPS cargo plane crash, the airline has returned to full operations, albeit with a grounded MD-11 fleet. But south of the airport and just over the railroad tracks, many livelihoods remain on pause.

Sabit Aliyev opened Kentucky Truck Parts & Service one month before the crash. Now the co-owner worries where his next paycheck will come from.

"We got a catastrophe over here," Aliyev said as cranes entered the crash site and oil was pumped from a nearby ditch.

Aliyev left trucking to start the mechanic shop near Louisville's airport, hoping to spend more time with his family.

"To get a shop and be home with kids, that's the main goal," Aliyev said. "But trucking is no life. It's only trucking."
