ORTING, Wash. — Early returns show strong support for Orting School District’s Proposition No. 1 , with about 65% of voters in favor.

The bond measure would fund several projects, including rebuilding Orting Elementary School, upgrading agricultural classrooms at Orting High School and constructing a new Career and Technical Education wing.

In a statement, the district thanked the community for its support, saying the projects will provide “safe, modern spaces that encourage hands-on learning and prepare students for the future.”

Facing overcrowded buildings, rising enrollment, and inadequate resources for student success, the $137 million school bond proposal is aimed at building a new elementary school and expanding facilities at the high school.
