SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Governor Larry Rhoden and the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs hosted a state bridge dedication ceremony to honor six World War II veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their nation.
The Fallen Heroes Bridge Dedication program, launched by the Noem-Rhoden administration, creates visible and enduring tributes that connect communities to their history and remind future generations of the cost of freedom.
“It’s special because we have too few opportunities to thank those who served, made a great sacrifice for our nation. This event is particularly special because it’s the first time that we’re honoring a group of fallen heroes all at once,” Gov. Rhoden said.
