POST FALLS, Idaho — A newly-built home in Post Falls is now a pile of rubble after a man allegedly destroyed it with an excavator on Tuesday morning.

Dozens of neighbors woke up to destruction at the end of West Alsea Avenue and West Platte Court, and say the only word to describe the incident is 'disbelief.'

The Post Falls Police Department says it received calls around 6 a.m. reporting that someone was destroying a newly constructed house with an excavator.

Police say when officers arrived at the home, they saw someone driving away from the scene. Police stopped the driver, identified as a 29-year-old man, and arrested him on DUI, burglary and malicious injury to property charges.
