SPOKANE, Wash. – A deputy with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) faced an unexpected incident during a traffic stop on November 7.
The deputy was conducting a stop in the 1100 block of N. Argonne Road around 8:35 p.m when a man emerged from the darkness and started kicking the passenger side door, SCSO said in a release.
The deputy called for emergency assistance and drew his taser while exiting the vehicle. The man complied with commands and was arrested with the help of additional deputies.
SCSO said the man, who is homeless, explained his actions by saying he "hates cops." He did not target any specific officer or agency.
