CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Women’s sports are seeing record-breaking growth — from the pros to the playground. And here in Central Virginia, one local organization is making sure young girls have the same opportunities to get in the game.

Jessica Carter is the founder of Her Sports — a local organization dedicated to empowering young girls through athletics. Carter was recently recognized nationally by ESPNW as an Everyday Hero for her role in growing the game.
